ESF launches new bulletin, revives another

ESF has launched a new English-language web-based bulletin giving information on new developments in the field of planned languages, interlinguistics, and language planning. The bulletin, Information for Interlinguists, will list details of upcoming events, new publications in the field, reports on recent conferences, and a host of other useful information for academics.

The first issue, edited by Asya Pereltsvaig, Yevgeniya Amis, and Humphrey Tonkin, is now available on the ESF website at www.esperantic.org/en/publications/ifi-information-for-interlinguists/. The expectation is that the bulletin will appear about three times a year. If you would like to receive notice as each publication is issued, please let us know at IfI@esperantic.org and we will send you a link.

Information for Interlinguists will have the same content as the already well-established Informilo por Interlingvistoj, which was edited for many years by Detlev Blanke, who unfortunately died last year. The three editors of Information for Interlinguists are now responsible for both publications. Informilo por Interlingvistoj is a publication of the Center for Research and Documentation on World Language Problems (CED); however, is now being published under the auspices of ESF.

Dr. Blanke, who retired some years ago as a lecturer in interlinguistics at Humboldt University, Berlin, edited a total of 99 issues of Informilo por Interlingvistoj. The 100th issue consists of a detailed index to the 99 issues and is available at https://www.esperantic.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/IPI_Indekso_1-99.pdf. Many of the earlier issues are archived on the ESF website and ESF is now working on finding and posting the missing issues.

Informilo por Interlingvistoj 101, the first issue under new editorship, has also just been published. See:  https://www.esperantic.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/IpI-101_2017.pdf. If you would like to receive a link to the publication of each new issue of Informilo por Interligvistoj, write to ipi@uea.org

The bulletins will only be as good as the information that we receive. Please send your news, notices of conferences, details of your latest publications, etc. to Ifi@esperantic.org.

P.S. We apologize if you already received this information from UEA (you don’t need to subscribe second time – all requests were successfully received and processed)
