Support ESF!

The Esperantic Studies Foundation (ESF) does not pursue government funding. We rely on the generous contributions of people like you who are passionate about working to establish greater equality and improved communication and understanding amongst peoples of the world. You may choose to support the work of the Foundation in general, or a specific project or thematic focus of your choice. Please make a donation of a $100 or more to ESF, and your name will appear on our Donor Wall!

Tax Deductibility:
ESF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and if you are a US citizen or permanent resident, your donation is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution in accordance with United States low and tax regulations. Reference: EID-52-0885287.

ESF is not currently accepting Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from IRAs until we have finished the 5-year transition period to change tax status from a private foundation to a private charity. In 2027 ESF will welcome donations made via a QCD. (The QCD rule allows IRA owners to deduct required minimum distributions (RMDs) on their tax returns. This can lower your adjusted gross income (AGI) and reduce your income taxes.)

Planned giving

Planned Giving - Leaving A Legacy

How would you like to be remembered?

Planned gifts, such as charitable annuity gifts or legacy gifts, can help you accomplish your financial goals and, at the same time, leave a philanthropic legacy in support of human and linguistic rights, research and education. We will be happy to discuss with you the details of how you would like your gift to be used, including the possibility of a named endowment or other personal legacy.

You can build your legacy contribution with ESF in a number of ways, including:

  • Making a bequest in your will for a specific sum or a portion of your estate;
  • Naming The Esperantic Studies Foundation as a beneficiary of your RRSP, RRIF or pension (for the U.S. residents).
  • Giving A Gift of Property or Publicly-Listed Securities (Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds)

The Esperantic Studies Foundation would welcome any gifts or bequests of property or securities. The latter, in particular, may offer considerable tax benefits (for U.S. residents) and can be easily handled through electronic transfers or by delivery. Consult your tax expert when planning to make a bequest or publicly-listed securites.

Other giving

Other Giving

There are numerous other ways of giving, for example:

Donating Books, Documents or other Esperanto or Interlinguistics-Related Materials

The Esperantic Studies Foundation is committed to preserving Esperanto and Interlinguistics-related book collections, documents and/or manuscripts. ESF has supported the preservation of one of the largest and most important Esperanto libraries in the world, The Hector Hodler Library in Rotterdam, and is seeking to develop an important North American research library. We would welcome donations of personal collections.

Volunteer your time by contributing to one of ESF projects, such as Lernu.net or Edukado.net

Thank you!

By supporting the Esperantic Studies Foundation, you will be supporting efforts to promote language equality in the world and equitable, high-quality communication across cultures and language groups. Thank you!
