Dear Friend,
This year is a special year for the Esperantic Studies Foundation (ESF): In 2018 we are celebrating our golden jubilee! ESF was officially founded on September 23, 1968. From its inception until today ESF has worked without interruption for linguistic justice and for Esperanto - as recognized by the Universal Esperanto Association with the presentation of a special certificate of appreciation at the World Congress in Lisbon this year. This honor was also in recognition of all those who have collaborated and supported ESF through the the past half-century. We hope you are just as proud of this recognition as we are!
Under the banner "For linguistic justice in a multicultural world," ESF supports education and research programs that promote linguistic justice and equality. We aim to create environments in which languages are treated as equal and communication occurs in a non-discriminatory manner. For 50 years, we have supported the Esperanto Movement and have promoted "Esperantic" solutions to language problems: solutions in which no one language enjoys an advantage over another. During the past year, ESF has supported a particularly rich list of projects (see below).
Our success could not happen without generous support from our donors. We greatly appreciate and thank all who have helped us! We now invite you to celebrate ESF's gold jubilee with a special golden jubilee gift, which will enable and strengthen our activities in the coming decades!
You can donate via UEA (to account esfo-p) or online via credit card or PayPal at esperantic.org/donacoj: Patron Level ($1000), Gold Level ($500), Silver Level ($250) or Bronze Level ($100). You can also donate any amount that you can afford now, either one time or monthly. (We invite you to consider supporting ESF at the Gold or Patron level.) Know that when you give to ESF your money is in capable hands. Thanks to the careful and conservative management of our capital your gift will bear fruit not only now, but also in the coming years and decades.
Sincerely,
Humphrey Tonkin, ESF president
