Katalin Kovats and Sylvain Lelarge again at NASK

NASK (North American Summer Esperanto Institute) returns to William Peace University in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the fourth time this year. NASK is the longest-running North American Esperanto course and one of the most important programs supported by Esperantic Studies Foundation (ESF). It is a unique educational event that attracts a broad range of students and professional instructors from around the world.

Two outstanding instructors have accepted the invitation to participate: Katalin Kovats (Hungary / Netherlands) and Sylvain Lelarge (France / Netherlands). The couple has successfully taught at the World Esperanto Congresses and led language activities during various Esperanto events for the past 15 years. Katalin Kovats is the editor of Edukado.net, member of the Academy of Esperanto and an experienced instructor at NASK. She will teach at the Advanced Level. Sylvain Lelarge, a professional teacher of French, will lead the Intermediate Level. It will be already his second experience teaching at NASK. Lee Miller (USA), a professional interpreter and one of the NASK organizers, will teach the Post-Beginners’ Level.

The Annual Congress of Esperanto-USA will take place immediately before NASK in the same location so that you can come for the Congress and stay for NASK. The congress dates are June 30th – July 3rd 2017. Students for NASK will arrive on July 4th and leave on July 13th. Lessons will take place from July 5th to July 12th. The evening of the arrival day, students will be able to watch the fireworks in the city center. (William Peace University is within walking distance from downtown, and the fireworks are visible from the campus.)

During the 8 days of instruction, lessons will be in the morning, and there will also be different activities and programs in the afternoons and evenings: presentations, exploring the beautiful museums, shops and restaurants of the city, everything within walking distance of the campus. The basic cost for the 8-day NASK is $790 ($840 after March 1st) which includes housing, meals, and tuition. There are also other options for local students not living on campus.
